RESUMEN
Los equipos POCT ( Point-of-care testing) son conocidos como
equipos ELA (exámenes en el lugar de atención). Estos equipos
incorporan un elevado nivel de tecnología, son simples de
operar, requieren poco volumen de muestra y entregan resul-
tados en pocos minutos. Es responsabilidad de los profesionales
del Laboratorio Clínico asegurar que los equipos ELA entreguen
resultados confiables, por lo que debe existir un control de
calidad realizado periódicamente. Estos equipos se encuentran
disponibles según necesidad en la mayoría de los Servicios.
Actualmente existe un Comité ELA interdisciplinario mediante
el cual se realiza la definición de qué equipos se incorporan a
la institución, se planifican las capacitaciones de los profesio-
nales que los utilizaran, se coordina la integración al sistema
informático del laboratorio (LIS), a la ficha electrónica (DOC)
y también se resuelven las fallas y mantenciones necesarias.
Durante el año 2015, se ha avanzado en la incorporación de
una nueva generación de equipos ELA, especialmente útil en
las unidades críticas. Estos presentan un menú más amplio
de prestaciones y tienen la particularidad de ser monitoreados
en forma remota desde el laboratorio en tiempo real, con un
sistema de control de calidad automático.
Con esto es posible disponer de exámenes confiables en pocos
minutos que ayudan a tomar decisiones clínicas oportunas y más
precisas.

SUMMARY
The POCT equipment (Point-of-care testing) at Clinic Las
Condes are known as equipment ELA (Testing on the point of
care) are computers that include a high level of technology
so they are simple to operate, require little sample volume
and deliver results within minutes. It is the responsibility of
professionals in the clinical laboratory to ensure that ELA
equipment deliver reliable result, so must have implemented a
quality control results performed periodically. This equipment
is available on demand in most services.
There is an interdisciplinary POCT Committee who defines
what equipment will be used in the institution. They also
plan the training professional program; coordinate the
integration to laboratory information system (LIS) to the
electronic record (DOC) and the maintenance and repair of
the POCT equipment.
During 2015 it was introduced a new generation of ELA
equipment particularly useful in critical units. It has wider
menu benefits and have the distinction of being monitored
from the laboratory to real-time and has an Automatic
quality control system.
With this new technique it allows reliable tests to be available
in few minutes to help make clinical decisions.
