Increment in risk prediction ability by adding BNP or NT-proBNP for cardiovascular disease. Conventional risk factors include age, sex (when appropriate),

smoking, history of diabetes mellitus, blood pressure (and/or history of hypertension), total cholesterol (or non–high-density lipoprotein cholesterol),
